Fortunately, the pharma industry is working hard to provide the solutions to guide us back to normalcy and stability. With those solutions are coming some incredible opportunities. As a regulatory professional, every day you analyze regulatory options to propel development forward. In the same way you are at the regulatory helm to pilot critical programs, we have empowered many regulatory professionals to optimize their career progression. Rather than focus on one or two specific opportunities, let us discuss the industry, your particular direction, and how a good career move will impact you now or in the future. You are the regulatory professional, and we are the career change agents. “Career Optimization” is what we do best!

By combining our talents in a short discussion and getting to know you better, we can help guide you to the next step forward. The right next step for you, could eventually provide a good match, now or in the future for our clients who are all seeking great regulatory professionals.

Quarterly Regulatory Career Planning Update: Steps, Miss-Steps & Considerations

What a difference a month makes since our last discussion! Let’s continue to sort through the “noise” during critical times with changing priorities. Suddenly short-term priorities take front seat. How do you find strength in our industry:
Assess your company and its pipeline-
  1. More so than ever, look at the company’s financial balance sheet related to its burn rate, large or small!
  2. Pipeline-How has Covid-19 affected trial progress, data, or enrollment?
  3.  Are they hiring/expanding or holding?

As critical as all three factors are, do not make the mistake of looking at each myopically. Look at the full picture of where changes are occurring, and what plan is in place to go forward. Many companies have temporary issues, yet the strength and plan to weather the storm and move forward.

**Schedule a short career discussion and let us help you through evaluation of your current situation AND what that means for you.

Covid-19 and Careers - Personal Responsibility & Team Accountability

Each day brings changes for all of us in how we conduct business. In our industry of pharmaceutical and device Regulatory Affairs, we are in much better shape than many other industries. If you are not working from home yet, most likely you will be shortly. What does that mean for you and your company?

Insigni Partners is located in the state of Washington, which has been hard hit yet we are up and running and fortunately, working remotely is something we are well set up for. Daily, we talk to people regarding their regulatory affairs careers and what all this will mean going forward. We do not have the answers but here are things you can do to contribute:

1.      Personal Responsibility: Show your company that their faith in you is well-placed. They are taking care of you by having you work remotely--take care of your company by being accountable and delivering more than what is expected of you.

2.      Drug development is a “team sport”! Apprise your team of where you are at, and reach out to others, to continue the collaboration that makes development of products here in the US outstanding!

3.      Remember there are still key staff that must go into the office, support them to the best of your ability and respect “Social Distancing”. “Social Distancing” is not a catch phrase it is a critical personal responsibility that will decrease the amount of time restrictions continue.

How you operate in the times of stress and challenges, will be how you will continue to be viewed in the good times! Be a shining example.

We continue to talk to Regulatory professionals about the hiring that is continuing. If you just need an ear, or have concerns we are here to support you.

Career Planning for Reg. Professionals: Steps, Miss-Steps & Considerations

3/4/2020

Regulatory professionals are constantly inundated with new “opportunities”. How do you sort through the “noise” and make your decision on long range goals vs. short term possibilities? We counsel executives daily on how to best work through this. If you are in the range of 5-10 years until retirement, this means you are truly at the pinnacle of your career and your next critical decision should be based more on what you need to gain professionally and monetarily, in 5-10 years vs. 2-3 years. Often the primary decision driver is relocation and most people say “no” due to the personal impact. If you are saying “no”, here are things to consider:
  1. Are you living where you want to retire? If not, are you living and working in the best place to reach your retirement goals?
  2. Can you keep your “base” and still consider another location? In this housing market, selling your home is great but do you truly want to buy? Renting short term may be a better option, OR don’t sell your home, rent it and use that income to rent in the new location while your home gains value. Especially useful if you plan to return in five to 10 years!
What makes it worthwhile to “uproot” for the next 5 plus years to obtain your retirement goals quicker? Look closer at long term benefits! What you gain in 3 years may pay for your kids college, or drastically improve your retirement income. Right now companies are offering- on top of base and bonus, incredible long-term benefits of an additional 30 to 40 % of salary. Is increasing your retirement or long term savings by say $250,000 in just three years, worth renting in another location-so you come “home” to retirement in style?!

Meaningful Career Reflection

12/19/2019

This year is wrapping up and the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday season has taken over our personal lives. Easily overlooked but equally important, is taking time for professional reflection. Reflecting on your major milestones accomplished, and setting new goals is typical but you can reach deeper and ask yourself more revealing questions.

What were my successes and who or what contributed to them? What about these do I find surprising or unusual?
How did I expand my experience, not only in terms of performance and professionally but also inwardly for myself?
How often did I challenge myself? Did I challenge & inspire my team?
In which opportunities to challenge myself & team did we flourish or flounder?
When did I apply my own experience of success and mistakes to develop and mentor individuals around me?
Did I maintain and grow my professional network, and am I effectively maintaining and utilizing those connections?

Your personal career reflection is crucial.

Insigni Partners is a retained firm offering career growth counseling to determine paths forward. Being a retained firm gives us the advantage of getting to know you and the answers to tougher questions better, examining how your career experience and personal goals align with professional accomplishment, and identifying impeccable opportunities at the right time. In this way we are prioritizing your goals, aligning them with which clients are a great match either now or in the future.
